Oxford

The recognizable textured look of Oxford fabric stems from the basket weaving method, where horizontal (weft) threads intersect an equal number of vertical (warp) threads. This technique usually involves interweaving a colored thread with white ones.

Oxford fabric is a popular choice for shirts, everyday attire, and work uniforms.

What is oxford fabric?

Originating in 19th-century Scotland, Oxford fabric was initially developed as one of four distinct weaving styles named after prestigious universities.

Its exceptional breathability and durability made it the go-to material for making polo players' shirts. Oxford shirts traditionally have the addition of the button-down collar, designed to hold the collar in place during games
